Studio Work

This is my latest studio completion.  The inspiration came from our trip last summer through Monument Valley. We spent one morning driving the back roads through Navajo villages and spotted this mare and her colt with the monuments towering in the background. You can see how vast that land is, look at the Navajo homestead in the distance on the right.

Desert Meadows Park

Early Sunday mornings you'll find Jan and I out painting.  Usually at a developing park here in town. We always have visitors, dogs and people who are out enjoying the morning as we are.

Tubac revisited

Mercado Del Bac is the scene below. The hollyhocks were "strut in their stuff" that day. We arrived early about 7:30 and painted till 10 when the shops started opening.

Hacienda de la Canoa TPAPS

Jan and I joined Water Porter and the TPAPS group for his demo before we all painted.  Another beautiful day to be out of doors and paint.
This is a study of one of the horse stalls with the ratake fencing (stacked mesquite logs.)

Plein Aire Painting- Tubac

Good to be out painting again after a few weeks when I could not get away. Returned to one of my favorite spots in Tubac- just outside the Country Shop. Beautiful December 2015 day.
